Our goal is not to eliminate every form of plastic at any cost.

It is to prevent unnecessary plastic waste and use resources as carefully as possible.

Plastic can be a practical and durable material, particularly in a humid tropical and marine environment.

We use it where it provides a genuine long-term advantage, can be reused for many years or helps protect food, water, equipment and other resources.

What we aim to avoid is disposable plastic that is used briefly and remains in the environment for decades.

Less packaging, more thoughtful solutions

Wherever practical, we choose reusable, refillable or naturally biodegradable alternatives.

This includes:

• Refillable drinking-water stations instead of single-use bottles

• Reusable containers, glasses and tableware

• Refillable bathroom amenities instead of individual miniature packages

• Purchasing food and supplies in larger quantities to reduce packaging

• Reusable transport boxes and storage containers

• Preference for local products with minimal packaging

• Separation and responsible handling of unavoidable waste

We also work with suppliers to reduce unnecessary wrapping and packaging before it reaches the property.

Avoiding waste at the source is more effective than trying to manage it afterwards.

Designed for long-term use

Our decisions are based on durability rather than appearances.

Materials should withstand the tropical climate, require little maintenance and remain usable for as long as possible.

A durable plastic component that performs safely for many years may be more responsible than a supposedly natural alternative that must be replaced repeatedly.

We therefore consider the entire lifespan of a product, including transport, maintenance, reuse and disposal.

Guests are part of the concept

Our guests play an important role in reducing waste.

We ask everyone to avoid bringing unnecessary single-use packaging, use the provided refill options and separate waste correctly.

This is not about strict rules or moralising. It is about simple decisions that have a meaningful effect when everyone participates.

Small actions matter:

• Bring a reusable water bottle

• Decline unnecessary bags, straws and disposable items

• Reuse towels and other items when practical

• Dispose of waste only in the designated collection points

• Leave natural areas exactly as you found them​

Reducing plastic waste is not a finished project.

Products, suppliers and recycling options continue to change.

We regularly review our operations and replace disposable systems with better solutions whenever practical alternatives become available.

Our principle is simple: use less, choose carefully, reuse whenever possible and prevent waste before it reaches the forest or the sea.
